Answer: NO
No matter what contraceptive method you use – oral contraceptive pill, emergency pill, IUD or an injectable – you can still get pregnant once you stop using these contraceptive methods.
The use of the contraceptives only prevent you from unwanted, unplanned pregnancies i.e. say goodbye to surprises. There is no evidence that suggests that contraceptives pills hurt future fertility or make you infertile.
It is always good take a doctor’s advice to understand the implications of taking these contraceptives as it is different for each individual. Prolonged use of contraceptives may cover up other reproductive disorders which can be the underlying cause behind the pregnancy issues one might be facing e.g. Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) and delayed diagnosis might be the reason behind the difficulty in conceiving.
Use of contraceptive methods DOES NOT reduce the chances of future pregnancy.
